Scripture for Meditation & Memory

“Seek justice, encourage the oppressed…” ~Isaiah 1:17

Call to Worship

Psalm 119:137-144 (Select Verses)

Righteous are you, O Lord and your laws are right,

The statutes you have laid down are righteous, they are fully trustworthy.

Your promises have been thoroughly tested, and your servant loves them.

Your righteousness is everlasting and your law is true.

Your statutes are forever right; give me understanding that I may live. Amen.

Affirmation of Faith

In Faith, we acknowledge that God has acted in holy history.

In Faith, we confess that God seeks to rule our lives today.

In Faith, we affirm that God continues to send prophets and speaks through willing vessels.

In Faith, we believe we are transformed by the traits we find in Jesus Christ: compassion, justice, and love.

In Faith, we long to be part of God’s purpose. Amen.

Stewardship Prayer

O God, through these offerings we become more open…

open-minded in hearing your Word of love,

open-hearted in healing a broken world,

open-handed in heeding your transforming call.

With thanks for all good gifts, we bring a portion of our substance and the whole of ourselves. Amen.
