Go forth and make disciples of Jesus Christ by providing spiritual guidance and Christian education to the church family and community and reaching out to those in need.

This home where His place is our place; and this place isn’t a building, but a way of being together in a relationship held together by love, where we are no longer lost.
The United Church of Madrid welcomes all who desire to learn more about Christ, and provides a loving and faith-filled family of people with which to share your journey. We hope you will join us!

Our History
The history of the United Church of Madrid is a rich and storied tale, involving the union of the Congregational and Methodist churches of the village. It is a story we hope to tell in as much of its entirety as possible. Original documents from the churches, newspapers and personal interviews, were used as much as possible to unfold this wonderful narrative.

When we recognize our failures, when we repent for our sins, when we ask to reconcile with God, His favor extends to us. Righteousness then comes to us as a gift that is accompanied by grace, mercy, and compassion.
Jesus comes for the lost, to invite us to come to life. To invite us home. And when we are no longer lost, when we are home, Heaven just may throw a party for us!”

Our Team & Leadership
The United Church of Madrid is served by a part-time time pastor who also serves as part-time pastor for the Louisville Community Church in Louisville, NY.
The pastor is supported by a church president, a number of committees and groups, and a part-time office assistant.

Pastor Dick Lenz has returned to serve as our part-time pastor upon unanimous vote!
Kathy and I are blessed-beyond-blessed to be with you and the church again, for the summer… and now beyond as your newly elected “Settled Pastor;” for a time such as this. We’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, it seems like only yesterday that I last “retired” – three years ago – but in our first three Sundays together, and every Sunday since, it feels like we have picked-up right where we left-off. Our church, and the Madrid community, has always welcomed us and made us feel so much at home that the decision to come back was easy.
Now as we look forward to our second act together, let us pray for God’s strength to continue in our current ministries, for the discernment of Jesus in seeking out new ministry opportunities, and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to go forth and make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world; always reaching out to those in need.
